Woods Canyon Lake Fishing Report: 90+ Trolling Success!

Alright anglers, just got back from a fantastic trip to Woods Canyon Lake and wanted to share the goods. If you're looking for some action, listen up!

The Headline: Trolling is KING right now! We consistently pulled in rainbows and browns pushing 90+ feet deep with lead core line.

Details:

Species: Primarily Rainbow Trout, with a few decent Brown Trout mixed in.
Depth: This is crucial. 90+ feet was the magic number. We marked fish shallower, but they weren't actively hitting.
Lures: Smaller spoons and spinners are producing best. We had success with:
Thomas Buoyant Spoons: (Gold and Red/White patterns)
Rooster Tail Spinners: (White and Black)
Kastmaster Spoons: (Silver and Gold)
Technique: Low and slow is the key. Keep your speed consistent and don't be afraid to experiment with retrieve speeds until you find what the fish want.
Line: Lead core line is almost a necessity to get down to those depths. Monofilament with significant weight might work, but lead core provided the most consistent results.
Water Conditions: The lake is clear and the surface temperature is cool in the early mornings. Afternoon winds picked up a bit.
Weather: Sunny with a high in the low 70s.
